Oh my. We have so much work to do.

First, sex therapist, educators, and coaches don't have sex with patients/clients. I thought that this was so self evident, but reading some of the comments, I'm actually not sure?!? These are zero touch practices, and what we offer is education, ideas, resources, suggestions, and mostly our knowledge! I'm also pro sex worker positive, so no shade there, but that isn't in the scope of any of the work that I do.

Second, the number people triggered by the word pleasure makes me really sad. And those so triggered of open, honest, and meaningful conversations around sexual health are the ones who need it most. I'll even venture to say, all of us can use check ins with ourselves periodically, even those enlightened and well versed in their sexual health, need occasional tune ups! Conversations around changing needs, aging, lifestyle intrigue, fantasy, desire, and pleasure is literally part of human sexual health. These aren't taboo, bad, or naughty. Sexual health IS health.

Third, like all things in life, if this isn't for you, WONDERFUL. Move along, it's that simple. I want clients who are interested in doing the work, excited to dig in to their own pleasure, and are savvy enough to work with a professional who can help them fully achieve their goals.

Four , I put this all out there and have zero shame in my new chosen line of work, AS MY HOPE IS YOUR OWN CONVERSATIONS are happening everywhere about the topic of sexual heath, what sex educators and coaches do, and people that have used the services can share their great experiences!

Five , life is short. It can be really, really cruel at times. But it can also be full of so much connection, joy, and pleasure, and as a person who has been on both sides of that coin, I know where I want to spend my precious time. I think most of us do, we just often times need a nudge in the right direction.

I'm going to go soak up pleasure the entire rest of the afternoon, and I sure hope you do the same.
